The starting gun in the race for Tamworth Regional Council has been fired, with pre-polling for council elections opening on Monday.

Voters in the Tamworth Regional Council have five pre-polling centres open in the lead up to election day on September 10.
Residents can vote at the returning office on Peel St, next to Ruby’s cafe, which will be open from August 29.
The Peel St office will open from 8.30am to 5.30pm on Monday to Friday. Hours will extend to 8.30am to 6pm on Friday September 9.
The Barraba and Manilla branch offices will get pre-polling started from Monday, September 5, open from 8.30am to 4.30pm until Friday, September 9.
While there will be shortened hours at the Nundle branch office, where voters can get in from 10am to 2pm from Monday, September 5. The office will be closed on Thursday and return to normal hours on Friday, September 9.
With council elections in full swing, Tamworth residents and ratepayers will be able to meet the region’s local government candidates at the Tamworth Community Centre on Monday night from 6pm.
