The side bowed out in the quarter finals to New Zealand and although the side exited earlier than expected, Morgan said it was a thrill to compete in Rio. "[It was] pretty unforgettable in terms of learning experiences," she said.
"It was an amazing thing to be a part of. I know we didn't get a win but we played really good hockey the whole way throughout. It was a disappointing way to go out because the way we were playing we were pretty confident we were going to be in the medal match. Sometimes things don't go the way they should and that is just the way they go."
Even though the results didn't go their way, Morgan was the first goal scorer for the Aussie side.
The goal came in the side’s 2-1 loss to eventual gold medalists Great Britain in their opening match of the Games.
"It is always nice to get a few on the board and it was a nice way to start," she said.

"It is always nice to get a few on the board and it was a nice way to start," she said.
"The whole lead up, the warm up and the anthem was a bit of a blur because I was so nervous.
"Once we were a few minutes into the game I started to calm down a little bit and to get the goal was pretty cool.
"I had all of my family in the crowd which was unreal."
Morgan has a busy schedule over the next few years with a hockey world cup and the Commonwealth games in 2018 before she vies for Olympic selection again for the 2020 Tokyo Games.
In the meantime she is taking a well-earned break with a visit to her hometown in the next few weeks.
"Everyone in the group has a few weeks off then we have Australian Hockey league at the end of next month," she said.
"Then we have two tours, one to New Zealand and a few games against India in Melbourne in November and then we have a big summer break until the new coach comes in and then it will be all very different and we might be looking at a different squad.
"At this point we are just having a break and taking in that whole experience and getting over it a bit.
"We are still disappointed with the way it ended so I think it will be good to have a few weeks break and then get back to the group.
"I will be back in Armidale in a couple of weeks."
