Always...Patsy Cline, a tribute show with a lot of heart, will feature at the Tamworth Capitol Theatre on Wednesday night.
The humorous and emotive musical play includes 27 of Patsy’ unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight.
The show is based on the legendary singer’s pen pal relationship with fan Louise Seger which continued until the day she died.
It was a challenging role for Conway, but a privilege to play the part, she told The Leader.
“It made me very nervous when I first got the part,” she said.
“She is such an iconic artist to play and is a really big deal, especially with her being in the industry for so many years.
“It has been a lot of work as she’s got such an amazing sound.”
It’s a beautiful family friendly story of a friendship formed by keeping in touch via letters and the telephone
- Courtney Conway
Conway has spent the last 12 months practicing those signature high notes which she said she had never explored before.
The show’s stop to the Tamworth Capitol Theatre is part of a national tour, which Conway said had been well received so far.
Even if you aren’t a country music fan, she said, the show was one for people from all walks of life.
“It’s a beautiful family friendly story of a friendship formed by keeping in touch via letters and the telephone,” she said.
“We have a band with us playing live and there are lots of beautiful stories to tell.”
