The girls finished the week with a 4-2 win over Sydney South West and a 4-4 all draw with Riverina to finish tenth with two wins, four draws and six losses for the three day carnival in Port Macqaurie.
Coach Kerry Floyd said that while some of the draws could have easily gone their way, four of the six losses were by just one try, including losses to grand finalists Sydney East and Polding.
“We were very competitive,” Floyd said.
“It was a great effort and we were a bit unlucky not to finish much higher.”
Hillvue’s Kiani Duckett was the stand-out in the side and was justly rewarded with a NSW jersey on the final day.
“Kiani has amazing ability,” Floyd said.
Bundarra Central’s Paige Vickery won the North West medal for Most Valuable Player.
“This is her third year in the North West side and it is much deserved,” Floyd said.
