The landholder found herself flooded in as the swollen Attunga Creek flowed over her drive way. Too unsafe to cross, she had to wait it out until the water receded on Thursday afternoon.
She was one of many residents left stranded after an average of 50mm of rain was recorded the Tamworth district since Tuesday.
The rainfall was widespread in the region with 33mm recorded at Gunnedah and 25mm in Mulalley.
The steady rain moved in mid-morning on Monday, easing that night before returning on Tuesday evening and falling into Wednesday. The wet August is expected to continue into next month, with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting a chance of showers and partly cloudy conditions into next week.
The recent downpours have been a welcome relief for farmers who have suffered drought conditions for most of the year, with many forced to hand feed stock or sell up.
