Mr Bray has been rolling up his sleeves for just over 10 years and now he’s registered his one hundredth plasma donation, which equals about 50 litres of blood and potentially 300 lives saved.
If you ask Mr Bray, he’ll tell you he makes the regular donations just to get a free chocolate milkshake and sausage roll, but deep down he feels “pleased his act may help someone else.”
A veteran at the blood bank, Mr Bray brought along a willing debutante to help celebrate his century, none other than his RuralCo Davidson and Cameron principal Daniel McCulloch.
With no fear of needles or blood, Mr McCulloch said the only barrier to making his first donation was a lack of time.
“It’s a lot easier than I thought, and it didn’t take long at all” he said.
“There’s a misconception that it takes ages, but you could do it on your lunch break.”
