The 43-year-old mother, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in Tamworth Local Court on Wednesday morning on one count of murder.

The mother waived her right to a contested committal hearing and was committed to stand trial by Magistrate Roger Prowse.

The woman is charged in connection to the disappearance and alleged murder of her 16-month-old daughter at Scone between 2000 and 2001.

During the proceedings, Magistrate Prowse ordered the woman to appear in the NSW Supreme Court in Sydney for an arraignment listed on October 7.

She will remain on conditional bail until that date.

Court documents allege the woman murdered her daughter between Christmas Day in 2000, and February 28, 2001.

The toddler wasn’t reported missing until 2004.

Her remains have never been found.

The court has previously been told the brief of evidence in the case includes in excess of 6000 pages.

Strike Force Kununa was launched by Hunter Valley detectives and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad to investigate the alleged murder which culminated in the woman’s arrest at her North Coast home in March.

Three inquests have been held in relations to the toddler’s disappearance in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
