TWO developers who have built water mains capable of catering for future redevelopments could be reimbursed if a recommendation is approved by Tamworth Regional Council.
Busido 1 could be reimbursed almost $5000 after constructing a water main for Forest Hills.
A report to the council suggests, while the development consent associated with the development required the construction of the main, the developer in this case had used pipe with a wider diameter than stipulated which would, in turn, cater for further development on adjacent blocks.
As a result, council water enterprises director Bruce Logan suggested the council reimburse Busido 1 about $4630 the difference in the cost of laying the small pipe.
In another recommendation, Enchant, the developer of Windmill Dr and Browns Ln, could be reimbursed $150,425 to cover the cost difference of installing two separate water mains larger than the size stipulated in its development consent for Hills Plains that will enable future development there.
If the recommendation is supported by the council, the reimbursements would be funded from the council's water reserves.
