AN 81-YEAR-OLD Barraba man is still missing on his property near the town, Sergeant Matt O'Hehir of Tamworth police said yesterday.
The man, who has been missing since last Friday afternoon about 20km north-west of Barraba, could be on his property or a nearby travelling stock route, Sergeant O'Hehir said.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called on Saturday morning to assist in the search.
The helicopter, with paramedics aboard, conducted a search on Saturday for more than an hour before returning to the base.
The police helicopter Polair also carried out several sweeps of the search area on Saturday afternoon and continued to search yesterday.
"It's continuing they've had dogs and helicopters (there)," Sergeant O'Hehir said.
The man's vehicle was found on Friday, which sparked the search.
Sergeant O'Hehir urged the public to be on the lookout for the man if they happened to be in the area.
"If anyone was to have any knowledge, certainly contact us or Crime Stoppers," he said.
