Should everything be one-size-fits-all?

INTERESTING once again to see Nationals MP Trevor Khan’s ongoing support for same-sex marriage to the extent that he has joined a working group to draft a same-sex marriage bill. Others in the group include the Greens’ Cate Faehrmann, Labor’s Penny Sharpe, Sydney Indie MP Clover Moore and Bruce Notley Smith. To his credit Mr Smith admits he is openly gay. If you have been watching ABC’s  Q&A program you would be forgiven for thinking that Q&A has become a platform for gay rights,

in fact, hijacked would be a better word. Ironically by very rude feminists, atheists and humanists.

Recently, when Anglican Archbishop Peter Jensen was a guest, he spoke respectfully and put the church’s God-given belief that the Marriage Act should not be changed to include “two people”, eliminating man-woman, husband-wife.

During question time the mood of the audience turned angry. One man curled his lip up in an angry gesture when he spoke of comments made by Jim Wallace of Australian Christian Lobby in reference to homosexuals having a shorter life span than smokers. I believe Mr Wallace called for debate on this issue.

I find it unacceptable that homosexual acts and heterosexual sex education is merged into the dreaded condom – one-size-fits-all. If young lives are to be saved we must have the courage to demand a review of sex education. Puberty is a difficult time for teenagers and their parents.
