Team managers, including one all the way from Ballina on the Far North Coast, spent a day last week revamping several garden beds, including a 50 metre side garden and fish pond, on behalf of Challenge Respite.
The Challenge service provides a home away from home for people with an intellectual or physical disability, or mental health disorder.
The team of willing workers hoped to turn the garden areas into a more welcoming space for clients to spend some time.
They spent the day helping volunteers from the centre weed, plant new plants and mulch to bring the huge area to life.
"We spoke to them about getting a few plants, and helping us out with a few plants," Challenge CEO Barry Murphy said.
"But it has gone from that to having about 25 people from Bunnings up there, not only from Tamworth but all around and they have done a magnificent job.
"Those sorts of things are something we'd like done but it would have to be on the low priority side for us to do ourselves because of the other causes we spend money on and for someone to come and do that for us is just magnificent.
"They did a great job and I can't speak highly enough of them."
Mr Murphy said the crew also worked tirelessly to remove a cactus, about two and a half metres tall and wide, from the garden, which took much of a day due to the effort required.
