Rangs coach Chris Binge thought that his side redeemed themselves with the 44-34 point win.
"If you look at today compared to last week against Guyra, Ashford are a much more quality side," Binge said. "We completed our sets a lot better and got back to the systems that work for us and win games."
Winger Jase Saunders was the stand-out, scoring five tries and only missing two conversions on a windy day, while back rower Jamie Smith and half Stan Swan also lead the way.
The win keeps last year’s grand finalists just one point short of the fourth placed Guyra on the ladder.
The Rangs have a bye with MacIntyre Warriors and Ashford Roosters playing a top-of-the-table clash and reigning premiers Inverell Hawks heading to Moree to play the Boars at Boughton Oval.
