Vodafone has announced the tower will be operational by early August.
Built as part of the federal government's Mobile Black Spot Program, the site will deliver 108sq km of new handheld coverage to more than 400 homes, as well as additional coverage of Armidale Airport.
The tower is one of 28 new base stations for the New England electorate .
