Sports players from the Tamworth teams of Pirates rugby union and netball clubs will more than walk the plank for the event which starts from noon.
This year's fun run - where coloured powder decorates participants as they run through various stations - takes off from Kable Ave near Hopscotch Restaurant at the regional playground.
But it's strictly non competitive, unless you want to race yourself, say organisers.
Spokesman Daniel Raffaele says participants can walk, run, skip or even push a pram around the 5km course which will take in riverside routes.
There's seven colour zones, the Pirates might run in tutus, and they're hoping to attract a crowd of at least 1000 people.
If last year's run is any indicator then at least two-thirds of the participants will be female.
Mr Raffaele said women seemed to love the fun nature of a run in the park - and any age is a good age, although the average age is just 32.
Last year, the oldest runner was 82 - and the baby of the bunch, a nine-month-old in a pram.
The event raises funds for the Tamworth Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
Participants can walk, run, skip or even push a pram around the 5km course.
