Members of the school’s Parents and Friends (P&F) committee have been busy putting their winter theme into action, with the ball the first of its kind for the school in many years. Proceeds from the event will go directly to the Catholic school, to help purchase new equipment and study resources.
In planning the event, the school has the expertise of P&F committee member and local event planner Bec Wherritt, who wanted to help the school with fundraising efforts after her daughter started kindergarten this year.
“We joined the P&F committee and quickly learned that with our background, this was something we could do for the school and really help them with their fundraising efforts,” Mrs Wherritt said.
“This year our theme is "Let it Snow" - our lucky guests will not only be amazed with scrumptious food and fantastic entertainment, but the hall will be transformed into a winter wonderland. We are donating our services and hire items to assist this fantastic little school.”
Mrs Wherritt said guests to the special event will enjoy a three course meal from Corey’s Catering with live entertainment by local band Splashpool.
“We have had a lot of support from the Tamworth community, which is just lovely, our ball is for everyone, not just school families, so the more people we can get to support this, the more the school and the children will benefit,” she said.
“We are hoping to run this event each year and will be choosing a different theme each year to keep the event fresh and exciting.”
Mrs Wherritt said tickets are on sale until Friday, July 29 and are $100 per person or $900 for a table of ten people and can be purchased from the St Joseph's Primary School office in Denison St, or Burke & Smyth Real Estate, in Peel St.
The ball will begin at 6pm.
