Rodda scored her first in just the fourth minute of the game. Two minutes later Tegan Smith made it 2-nil.
Their game fell away for a bit after that, coach Barrie Pritchard said.
The ball movement was too direct and, as a result, they were by-passing the midfield.
A 13th-minute penalty corner gave them a late boost and a 3-nil lead at the break.
"Flames looked to improve their structure and ball movement in the second half and were quickly causing Olympians' defence issues as Kim Resch won two early penalty corners with clever touches," Pritchard said.
"Resch's speed with the ball was proving tough for the Olympians defence and resulted in her beating two defenders and the goalkeeper to take Flames to a four-goal lead."
Olympians had some good counter-attack but weren't given many chances by the Flames' defence.
Ash Allen, Mel Allen, Brydie Welham, Bek May and goalkeeper Tracey Freeman were difficult to get past and helped keep Olympians scoreless.
Kate Ferguson also put in a tremendous defensive effort in the centre midfield, Pritchard said, and her linking with Resch and Naomi Spark set up many attacking raids.
Resch finished with a double to back up Rodda, who scored her third with five minutes remaining.
Resch showed great skill to beat the keeper and then overlap at right half to run to the circle and cross for Rodda to score.
Smith, Rodda, and youngster Ash Horniman also had strong games.
