Meantime, in hockey two Calrossy students vied for selection in the NSW Under 13 Girls Hockey side in Sydney, with the team to be announced this week.
Twelve-year-old, Bella Cameron, and 13-year-old, Ashley Chaffey, were named in the State squad, following the Under 13 Field State Hockey Championships in Grafton, earlier this month.
The girls were part of the Championship winning Tamworth 1 side, which only conceded one goal all tournament.
The girls, joined by Jess Davidson also from Calrossy, went on to be named joint champions with a nil all draw in the final against North West Sydney.
Also in Grafton, Matthew Holmes swapped his cricket bat for the hockey stick and was part of the Tamworth U13 boys 1 team, who returned home with the silver medal.
