An audiologist will be available at the Robert St pharmacy from 9.30 to 4pm on Tuesday.
Pharmacist Elsie Barnes said the check ups were available to anyone, but she said the pharmacy was targeting the over 65 demographic.
There are only limited spots available for the free check ups, which Ms Barnes said was positive to see so many people being proactive with their hearing health.
Ms Barnes said there was reluctance among the public to seek out health check ups.
“As people get older, the senses do decline,” she said.
“People might not recognise they are losing their hearing, they could be just turning the TV up louder.”
The intern pharmacist predicted there could be greater instances of hearing loss in the future, with the reckless use of earphones among younger people.
One in six Australians are currently suffering from hearing loss, and the number is expected to climb to one in four by 2050.
