Springtime with Noelene at Tamworth's Peel High School

TELEVISION icon Noeline Brown will be in Tamworth today  for the second time this year.

Ms Brown is the first Ambassador for the Ageing, and is the guest speaker at a workshop named Spring into Spring, which will be held at Peel High School this morning.

She will address the audience about the benefits of healthy active ageing, as well as the importance of inter-generational relationships, and how everyone can benefit from them.

The workshop is part of the Get Active New England program, which will involve over 100 elderly people from across the region who will interact and engage with some younger people, for a day of singing, dancing and physical activities.

Physiotherapist for Get Active New England and organiser, Judy Cope, said the main aim of the event is to prevent falls and promote healthy, active ageing, but there is so much more to it than that.

“Dancing is great for balance, but it also promotes activity, interaction, and fitness, as well as having a bit of fun.”
