In recent weeks, Fletcher Morley has been recording his debut album at Lindsay Butler Studios in Tamworth and is set to release a single on the next LBS Country Collection.
The 17-year-old's first release will be the single, Forever and Ever Amen and his album is planned for January, with his music very much strictly country.
"I've been singing ever since I could walk," Morley said.
"I just love music and the sound of country music. I also love the artists and the music and have always loved it."
He's planning to further his music career after a move to Tamworth to live with his father, Jason Douglas, who is a drummer, as Morley had been living in Boggabri.
"I'm having a go at writing and co-writing with Shaza Leigh," he said.
The album includes five covers and Leigh said they were endeavouring to have the rest as co-writes.
The young singer said he would like to try to get a Golden Guitar and said he enjoyed attending the Tamworth Country Music Festival a couple of times.
Leigh said Morley was looking for a mentor, so his father had brought him to Lindsay Butler and herself for that mentoring.
"I heard his voice and immediately wanted to work with him," Leigh said.
"I think he will end up as one of our better artists if he keeps going."
