Abby Stevenson might be just 16 years old, but her dreams, ambition and drive, exceed her years.
The local teenager has been named as a state finalist in the Girlfriend Priceline Pharmacy Model Search and she beat hundreds of young hopefuls for a spot at the top of the ladder.
Ms Stevenson and a handful of other young modelling hopefuls will now progress through to the next round of the competition and if she's chosen in the final six nationally, she will appear in a fashion shoot with Australia’s iconic Girlfriend Magazine.
The model search has produced some of Australia's biggest fashion names including Samantha Harris, Abbey Lee Kershaw and let's not forget Ruby Rose, who is most recently known as the break out star of American television series Orange is the New Black.
I can't believe I've made it this far and I'm just staying hopeful that I get through.

"It's always been my dream to be a model so I'm trying to do everything I can to get noticed," Miss Stevenson told The Leader.
"I approached Chic Management and they told me about their competition because they were running it.
"They said come on down and that's what I did."
The McCarthy Catholic College student is no stranger to appearing in front of a camera lens, having worked with local photographer Rachel Deane and has also modeled in the Australian Wool Fashion Awards.
With a supportive family behind her who accompanied her on her journey to the Sydney modelling heats, Ms Stevenson hopes a dream she has worked and hoped for, for so long can finally come true.
"When I was really little I always wanted to be a model, and now growing up and finishing school, I know that this is what I want to do,” she said.
Ms Stevenson said she has found role models in Australia's most prominent Indigenous model Samantha Harris, along with American super model and Victoria’s secret angel Gigi Hadid.
But while she has her idols professionally, the aspiring model said she just wants to be herself.
"I can't believe I've made it this far and I'm just staying hopeful that I get through.”
