The state government announced it would provide the town with a grant of $3000 for the Anzac Park National Service Memorial and Garden to repaint the memorial’s gateway and give the cenotaph a new look under the Community War Memorials Fund.
An Anzac Community Fund Grant will also provide almost $2000 to assist 18 local veterans in an excursion to the Royal Australian Air Force Base in Williamtown and the Australian Army Museum in Singleton.
Glen Innes RSL sub-branch president Gordon Taylor was delighted that the funding would help the RSL “keep the memory of our veterans alive for the future”.
