The six-year-old gelding has been with his young Tamworth trainer for just the three runs.
Germon missed the race as he was at Tamworth Base Hospital with a family member.
“It sounded like he won well,” Germon said.
Josh Osborn drove the gelding and he said there was plenty to like about the son of Life Sign.
“I’ve had the three drives on him now,” he said after Thursday’s win.
“We took him to Penrith last start thinking he might not be quite up to them but he ran a real good race (5th).
“We were confident he’d come back here and run a good race.”
Osborn drove a heady race, keeping race favourite Jogalong Stingray wide after a long three-wide run for a lap and then surged clear around the final bend.
The young driver and Germon didn’t have the same fortune in the final race of the meeting, the Hats Off To Country Here July 7 Pace (2360m) with idle Hands.
They had to settle for a 5.25m second to Major Deed.
“He did come from last,” Germon said.
“Major Deed was the one to beat.”
A Golden Guitar heat winner earlier this year, Major Deed and Lola Weidemann made it a treble for her and her sister, Julie, after winning the first two races of the night.
