Our son has special needs and was, this year, supposed to transition from Tenterfield’s Sir Henry Parkes Memorial Public School to Tenterfield High School, but talks between us and the abovementioned enabled our son to stay at Sir Henry Parkes for another 12 months.
He loves the school and his special needs have been accommodated.
As he’s growing up and is really getting too old for primary school, it’s hoped next year he’ll be able to go to Tenterfield High School. Talks will soon get under way to make this happen.
It’s encouraging to know that disabled people in rural areas are listened to and their political representatives care enough for suitable arrangements to be made that suits families and the student involved.
