THE Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew to two accidents in the North West at the weekend.
On Saturday, the helicopter took paramedics to Coonabarabran hospital to pick up a 25-year-old man who was injured in a trail bike accident about 1pm.
He was treated for head, shoulder and back injuries and flown to Tamworth hospital. Later he was transferred to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle. Yesterday afternoon he was reported to be in a stable condition.
On Sunday about 7.15pm, the helicopter flew paramedics to a property at Currabubula, where a 13-year-old boy had suffered head and facial injuries in a bike accident.
The teenager had hit a tree stump and was propelled about six metres from the bike.
He was flown to John Hunter Hospital for treatment. No condition report was available yesterday.
