Scores of families toured through the iconic bakery one last time for an open day that marked its long history with the city.
The bakery, which has been operating in Tamworth since 1968, will close this week as the company, Goodman Fielder, shifts production to its factories in Sydney and Canberra, cutting 30 local jobs.
The family fun day was a chance for affected workers and the public to celebrate the end of an era and to thank the community for its support.
Goodman and Fielder is the company behind brands such as Wonder White and Helga’s.
