IT IS imperative and clear to voters in the New England electorate that Gonski must be fully funded for the six-year period, so students in rural Australia can get the full opportunities of a better education.

The independent candidate for New England, Tony Windsor, I think, made a vital point, and that was to get rural students to university, Gonski must be fully funded for the six-year period.
Equally, the then O’Farrell Coalition state government and The Nationals’ NSW Education Minister Adrian Piccoli were spot on when they put students before politics and signed up for these measures, providing for a fair playing field for all schools everywhere.
When you cast your vote on July 2, give Gonski more than a thought as you vote, as good education policies provide for the future prosperity and growth of rural Australia.
