Gaba Binaal Buudhaabaa, a peaceful meeting place, was officially named and opened with a smoking ceremony conducted by Tamworth's Brian Sampson.
Students performed for the elders in attendance, shared a cake especially made for the occasion and enjoyed a hot lunch between boomerang and digeridoo decorating and creative weaving activities.
The room will be used by the centre for small group 'yarning' (meetings) and help it expand on its existing program aimed at introducing students to the Aboriginal culture.
