When asked by The Leader about the amount of multi-million dollar election commitments delivered within the electorate during his campaign, the quick thinking MP and Deputy Prime Minister described the dilemma as a double edged sword. "You live on the horns of dilemma, when you don't deliver they say you're impotent, when you do deliver they say you're pork barrelling, on the horns of this dilemma I'd always like to be on the side of delivery," he said.
Mr Joyce's comments follow extraordinary claims by former member for New England and independent Candidate Tony Windsor who alleged Mr Joyce had claimed funding for the Armidale Hospital redevelopment and a funding for the upgrade to Tenterfield's Mt Lindesay Rd was "in the bag" but later pulled by then Prime Minister Tony Abbott when Mr Windsor retired from the election race in 2013.
"I don't really want to comment on other candidates," he told press gathered in Tamworth on Saturday.
"Good luck to Mr Windsor. What I am happy is that Legume to Woodenbong Rd is now getting money so we can fix that up, we can get that built and we can keep people safe on the school buses
"What I am really happy about is we've got APVMA moving to Armidale, we're moving jobs there, what I'm really happy about is the money we've put on the table for Dungowan dam
"What I don't really want to do is have someone talking all the time about all the things that we're doing, I want to hear what they're doing.
"I know what we're doing.
"An election promise obviously has to be backed by treasury benches that were elected and if we are not re-elected you have to ask the Labor party what they're promising."
