While it wasn’t the real thing, the opening ceremony rehearsal of the American Quarter Horse Association’s International Youth World Cup was just as impressive, with the much-hyped event to begin next Friday.
The event will be hosted by the Australian Quarter Horse Association, and staff have been pulling out all stops to make sure it’s one to remember.
Riding teams will hail from 13 countries for the international horse spectacular, including Belgium, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Denmark, the US and UK.
There are 110 participants signed up to take part.
It’s the second time our city has been chosen to host the showcase and the sixth time the world cup has been held in Australia since it was created in 1978.
The event is held to promote camaraderie among the world’s youth in horse sports.
It’s set to attract thousands of spectators to the Tamworth district and put AELEC on the world stage.
