12 Aboriginal students were celebrated at TAFE New England's Tamworth campus as they graduated from the Indigenous Police Recruitment Our Way Delivery (IPROWD) course today
The IPROWD program was developed by the NSW Police Force and TAFE NSW to provide assistance to students in completing their medical, fitness and psychometric test as a part of the recruitment process.
TAFE New England Aboriginal Learning Circle manager Shaun Allan said the course is rewarding for the students and the institution "to be able to help Aboriginal students achieve their career goals and eventually get them back to assist their communities."
"The students' eagerness to successfully complete the program, and their self-confidence, has increased since they commenced the program in March," he said.
