Played on the John Carter Diamond at the Field of Dreams complex, the Brisbane-based club beat Deadstars 12-2 with a mercy decision after the seventh inning.
It was the seventh First Division title for the side originally formed as an over 40 Masters team to use Tamworth as a preparation ground for National Masters Games.
However the young guns, such as Wade Dutton son of IM coach Peter Dutton, have been starring in recent years.
Dutton was named the MVP of the final while Nathan Corscadden was close up with a brilliant catching game and hitting spree.
Kevin Cantwell, the 82-year-old manager of the Interport Masters, was elated with the performance of the side over the weekend, winning all five of their round games before overwhelming Deadstars.
“The whole weekend our pitchers were outstanding,” Cantwell said.
“We only had to change one pitcher once.
“They should be proud of themselves because they played very good baseball.
“ They played well all weekend, the fielding was sensational and we hit in behind the great pitching.”
Dean Jones started on the mound for the Interport, with Josh Roberts relieving.
“We never let them in the game,” Cantwell added.
“Winning five in a row though. That’s great.”
Deadstars captain-coach Todd Nicholls thought his side did well to reach the final.
“To be honest, I didn’t expect to make the final,” he said.
“Especially after losing to them in the first game (13-2).
“Just to make the final was outstanding and we just ran into a very good team.
“They were undefeated all weekend.”
He threw three pitchers at Interport – Jeremy Morris, Jayden Cavill and Pat Maat – but they couldn’t control the Iinterport batters.
While the Interport Masters won a fifth first division title in succession and their seventh overall, the Deadstars were also aligned to the number five.
“That’s the fifth year in a row we’ve brought five teams up here,” Nicholls said.
“We love coming to this carnival. We have some great fun.”
