Mark Tyson prepares and trains the karate exponents at the Hinkler Road Fighting Spirit Gym and was delighted with al their efforts on the weekend.
“Very pleasing,” was his simple assessment.
“They have been training very hard the last three months though and have made a lot of sacrifices.”
He said the results were particularly pleasing given the fact the national titles will be staged at SOPAC in nine weeks’ time.
“This year they are staging the World Full Contact Tournament in Japan too,” he said of a tournament only staged every four years.
“The opportunity is there to be selected for that World tournament from the nationals,” he said.
Those nationals, the Australian Non and Full Contact Championships, will be held in SOPAC on August 20/21.
From that national tournament a team to represent Australia at the World Full Contact Tournament in Japan in November will be selected.
