I could not allow Ms SL Paull’s letter of May 17, “The electorate has so much to gain”, go unchallenged.

Ms Paull fails to acknowledge the simple reality that Windsor is essentially standing for election as the Labor candidate.
Windsor’s failure to confirm which party he would support following the election is confirmation writ large that he once again intends to support Labor. Of this there can be absolutely no doubt.
Under another Labor government propped up by Windsor, we can once again look forward to live cattle export bans, a carbon tax, a mining tax, pink batts disasters, school hall rip-offs, dismantling of drought support for farmers, a mess on our borders (50,000 illegal arrivals last time, in case your readers have forgotten), a long-delayed and expensive rollout of the NBN, a schools funding plan that throws more and more money at mediocre teachers with no guarantee of better outcomes for our children, and more large coal mine approvals under Windsor’s flawed “water trigger” legislation.
The list could go on but your readers get the drift.
The choice this election is crystal clear.
Either support the leader of The Nationals and Deputy Prime Minister, Barnaby Joyce, who is piece by piece fixing up the last Labor/ Windsor mess, or fall for the Labor candidate masquerading as an independent, Tony Windsor, who created the mess in the first place and then cut and run in 2013.
I know who I will be supporting, and it is not Labor and its stooge Windsor.
