He writes a Soapbox for The Leader last week casting slings and arrows in the direction of Barnaby Joyce, without any regard of his own lack of sustaining sips of Tony’s truth serum.
Take a listen to Michelle Grattan’s recent theconversation.com podcast where another independent candidate, Rob Taber, expresses his concern about having been told on two occasions by Mr Windsor that he would not stand for this election.
Mr Taber said: “I took Mr Windsor at his word, thinking he had run his race ... I was quite prepared to put my hand up.”
Mr Taber’s disappointment was also published in The Armidale Express, on March 9, when the former Windsor ally said he felt betrayed by the decision.
In fact, Mr Taber catches Mr Windsor out in another porky.
He states Mr Windsor tried to do a preference deal with Mr Taber before deciding to re-contest his old seat of New England, The Armidale Express reports.
Mr Taber said he refused the deal, saying a “true independent should allow the voter to make up their own mind ... I was very surprised when Tony asked me for preferences, because as an independent he had never done preference deals,” Mr Taber said in his interview in The Express.
So when it comes to who is on Tony’s truth serum, let’s not forget those who would like to rewrite history to suit themselves.
