Next week, auditions will be held to cast Wicked, billed as The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz.
Based on The Wizard of Oz, Wicked tells the parallel story of the unlikely friendship between the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.
It is a tale of love, friendship and trust, showing that there are two sides to every story.
Wicked is among the most successful musicals of all time, still playing on Broadway since its premiere in 2013.
The show has only recently been made available for community theatre groups in Australia to perform, and Tamworth Musical Society was one of the first approved to go into production for a three-week season opening at Capitol Theatre on October 28.
Director of the production, Stephen Carter, said they are looking for eight lead characters and an ensemble of 16 - 20 people.
There are roles for both female and male performers, aged approximately 16 and over.
Auditions will be held at the Baptist Church Hall, corner of Werris Creek and Hillvue roads, on Wednesday, June 1 and Saturday, June 4.
