Integrated Wealth Solutions has established its presence in the New England area, adding to the already established PlanPlus.
Senior financial planner Terry Paris said it was important that people sought professional financial advice due to changes in the markets. “People seek advice on how to navigate the markets and because of the changes in legislation with the recent budget,” he said.
“We also show them how to protect themselves and talk a lot about insurance. It’s good to build wealth, but they have to maintain it. We also deal a lot with estate planning and looking after their families into the future.”
Mr Paris said country people tended to seek financial advice.
“It’s all about smoothing out the dips and hollows that farming communities go through in flooding and in drought,” he said.
“Generally, there’s as little as 25 per cent of people regularly engaging financial planning, but I think country people are more willing to take advice.”
The Tamworth operation has five staff members and 19 staff based throughout NSW who support the local staff members.
In addition to the financial planning services that PlanPlus provide, the office will now also function as an Integrated Wealth Solutions Service Centre, providing administrative support to other businesses within NSW.
Managing director Gary Chapman said, with business growing, he expected the local office to offer further employment opportunities in the financial services sector.
This has meant the business has moved to a larger office in Brisbane St.
