Sisters geared up for State titles

TAMWORTH sisters Madison and Sharnelle Sippel were putting the finishing touches to their Honda 450 and 250 racing bikes yesterday before heading off to  Wagga this morning for the NSW Long Track Motorbike Championships.

The talented pair will be riding in the open women’s divisions, Madison in the 250cc class and Sharnelle the 450s.

“It’s a 12-hour trip,” Sharnelle said.

“It’s a long way but we’ve both been practising hard for this .”

Sharnelle is also hoping to go one better than last year year.

“I finished second in the State long track and then 14th in Australia. That was at the Tamworth Showground.

“This year the Australian titles are at Oakburn Park (in Tamworth)  on November 16.”

Both she  and her sister are confident of riding well in the State titles in Wagga and then returning to Tamworth to tune up for the nationals.
