I am disappointed with the personal and dubious attacks by these correspondents on Tony Windsor.
The manner that John Scott attacked Dick Smith’s support for the policies of Tony Windsor does not reflect well upon him.
All candidates attract support from like-minded people, both inside and outside the electorate.
Gina Rinehart and John Howard do not live in this electorate and both have publicly supported Barnaby Joyce, for example.
To claim that Tony Windsor “held the nation to ransom” is incredible when what he asked for, and received, was largely support for his electorate in areas such as health, water and communications.
Surely, the primary purpose of a local member is to look after his or her electorate, not their party.
Revisiting the sale of the farm, which, to any reasonable person’s satisfaction, has been explained, is both mischievous and misleading.
And with regards to being a secret Labor member, Greg Daly seems to forget that Tony Windsor sided with the Liberal/National state government in a previous hung parliament.
How about we compare policies and records in parliament, rather than personal vilification to lead us to our personal decisions.
