TAMWORTH might have its own Hats Off weekend, but across Australia tomorrow members of the Rotary movement will be marking Hat Day for Mental Health.
In Tamworth, Rotarians from the First Light and West Tamworth clubs will take part in the city's Mental Health Stress Less Festival at Bicentennial Park, manning the barbecues.
Australian Rotary Health says the day is a way of encouraging Australians to stop keeping mental health issues under their hats.
Friday is an action and awareness day that will be celebrated across Australia.
In Melbourne they will be parading hats and millinery, while in Parramatta they will be handing out Hat Day visors and collecting donations, with the aim of topping the nearly $250,000 already raised through Hat Day to fund research grants in hospitals and universities across the country.
