Just before 4pm on Tuesday, police from the Armidale Target Action Group were patrolling Golgotha St when they stopped and spoke with two men.
Officers said they had cause to search a 28-year-old man and allegedly discovered six resealable bags with a white crystallised substance inside, which is suspected to be methylamphetamine, or ice.
A small sum of cash was also seized from the man, who was arrested and taken to Armidale Police Station where he was charged with supplying a prohibited drug and dealing with the proceeds of crime. Police allege the drug could fetch up to $600 on the street.
The 28-year-old was granted conditional bail to front court later this month.
