Bill Leech, 82, and a disabled pensioner, was taking a nap on the afternoon of Monday, April 11, when the brazen culprits broke into his Woodward Ave housing commission unit through a locked screen door and robbed him of his wallet, house keys, a laptop computer and mobile phone.
They then also took his car, which contained one of his most valuable possessions, a foldaway scooter.
The vehicle is a white 2005 Ford Falcon Futura with registration plates BH-24-NW and a disabled parking sticker displayed in the window.
The scooter is a blue EMS Gecko, and Bill also lost a walking stick which was in the vehicle.
“Police are appealing for anyone with information on the whereabouts of that vehicle or who has information in relation to that break-and-enter, to contact Tamworth Police Station on 6768 2999,” Acting Inspector Graeme Elms said.
