Aldi had applied for a packaged liquor licence.
In a published notice detailing the outcomes of the meeting, authority chief executive Micheil Brodie said “a statement of reasons will be provided and published as soon as practicable. It should be noted that this is a volume jurisdiction and a statement of reasons may take up to two months to produce.”
Original plans for the store included a 33-square-metre section dedicated to selling Aldi-branded alcohol.
Council’s Community Safety Committee opposed the application.
