This letter concerns Mr Windsor’s decision to contest the seat of New England in the coming election.
I was somewhat affronted when reading the copy of the letter addressed to me particularly, because, while pretending to be personally directed at me, it thanked me for my support to him over the years and asked for my support again during the 2016 election campaign and on election day.
In my reply to Mr Windsor’s letter, I pointed out that it is many years since I was, briefly, his supporter.
Shortly after he was elected, I became disillusioned with his alliances and did not support him after that.
For at least the last 10 years, I have not believed that his political actions were in the best interests of his electorate or the country.
I also stated that I would continue withholding my support for him in the coming election.
Enclosed with the letter was a statement of Mr Windsor’s reasons for seeking re-election.
Mr Windsor no doubt thought this necessary in view of his past political history, which has left voters confused, to say the least, as to Mr Windsor’s true political leanings.
In my view, if you vote for Mr Windsor, you will not necessarily be getting what you see.
Also enclosed was a request form listing various types of support required, including campaign fund donations.
As one of many taxpayers funding Mr Windsor’s very comfortable retirement, I was particularly affronted by this. I feel that sufficient has been donated to the Windsor cause with no good return that I can see.
I suggested to Mr Windsor that perhaps he might be more successful funding his campaign if he were to approach one of the coal mining or CSG companies interested in our region.
