Tamworth Baseball Association’s (TBA) junior baseball president Renae Madams is extending a welcoming arm to any and all juniors hoping, wanting and wishing to play in their juniors competition.
TBA committeeman Robert Chandler echoed the call for juniors.
“The juniors start (on Saturday) from 9am to 10.30am at the Field Of Dreams,” he said.
“Renae is doing a great job organising the juniors.
“Anyone can turn up and play from 9am down there.
“They are going to run a six to eight-week comp, have a bit of fun and continue on from last season.
“They are also in cahoots with the softball. So the kids can play softball in summer and baseball in winter.”
The senior season also tees off on Saturday with four first grade teams, including Armidale Outlaws.
“The Outlaws are going to be strong,” Chandler said.
“The Cougars will be good too – they’ve gained a couple of players and have Josh Daly back as well.
“He won them a grand final four or five years ago with some big hitting.
“ Warriors will be strong again and the Gunnedah Giants will have five Koreans playing for them too and helping out.
“So it all looks like being an interesting season.”
