Bevan Douglas Funerals manager Margaret Tarbert said their annual commemoration service prior to Anzac Day was a way that everyone could honour those returned service people who were buried or cremated in the cemetery.
“We have so many families that have a connection with the returned service people here,” Mrs Tarbert said.
“We have a special area for the service people and we see that as an important part of our cemetery.”
The cemetery has held the service for the last four years at the going down of the sun in the days prior to April 25. This year it was held on Thursday, April 21.
Service organisations and community members laid 13 wreaths in memory of those who have served in all wars.
