It has been announced construction at the White Rock Wind Farm will begin at the end of this month.
CECWPC is majority owned by the China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP), which is China’s largest technology-based service group in the field of energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental protection.
CECWPC was founded in 2006 and was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2014.
It specialises in the development, investment, management, construction, operation and maintenance of wind power projects.
CECWPC chairman of the board, Li Shusheng, said the group was very pleased to have secured an opportunity to enter the Australian renewable energy market.
“The 175MW White Rock Wind Farm will be larger than any currently operating wind farm in NSW, and the approvals, connection agreement and construction contracts are now in place, so the CECWPC and Goldwind investment will now enable construction to proceed,” he said.
“The investment in White Rock Wind Farm is being made on the clear support for renewable energy targets by the Australian government and the opposition.”
Goldwind Australia managing director John Titchen said the White Rock project represented a significant investment for the Glen Innes and Inverell area.
“Up to 200 people are expected to be involved during construction of the project, and a 10-to-5 local service team will be needed once the wind farm is operating,” he said.
