Two rifles stolen in a Boggabilla break-in
BARWON Local Area Command police are investigating the theft of two firearms during a break-in of a Boggabilla house last week.
Between 5.30pm last Friday and 2.30am last Saturday, a house in Merriwa St was broken into. A gun safe was taken from the premises and a Winchester 93 lever-action rifle and .22-calibre Marlin 782 bolt-action rifle were stolen.
Local police and forensic officers went to the house and examined the scene.
Investigations into the break-in are continuing.
Police are urging anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity on or near Merriwa St to come forward or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
