MOONBI Public School's young gardeners were excited to receive a big blue ribbon from the Tamworth Show but a big box from the Royal Easter Show is full of inspiration.

The school's keen young gardeners grew basil, mint, leech, coriander and spring onion in a vertical garden for the Tamworth show and presented the growing process in a PowerPoint presentation for the judging process.
They were awarded first place in the vegetable garden primary section.
"When the students saw the big blue ribbon from the Tamworth show they got pretty excited," teacher Miss Reilly said
She said Tamworth sent the marks for the produce and the power point presentation onto the Royal Easter Show.
The kinder to year six children involved the schools garden activities were notified of their Sydney success just after Easter.
"This has motivated them even more."
The school received a big box of garden items, including a variety of seeds, on Tuesday April 5 from the Sydney show society that contained $100 worth of items for their garden.

Class Awards
Congratulations are also extended to the following students who were awarded at assembly.
Literacy awards: Hannah and Kye - Opals, Jack and Jayden - Diamonds, Malcolm and Lochlan - Pearls and Jyer and Angus - Sapphires.
Virtue awards (manners): Jaiden and Georgia- Budgies, Tahlia and Corie - Rosellas, Malcolm and Kye- Hawkes
Class awards:
Budgies: Koby for being a great leader and Zavier for trying hard to make sure everyone is doing the right thing.
Rosellas: Taylor for involvement in all science discussions and Mia for working hard to complete math activities.
Hawkes: Jayden for demonstrating great leadership in group work and Coady for working with determination during maths activities.
Highlights from the classrooms
Budgies
Kindergarten are learning the letters 'O' and 'G'. We also designed and created our own farm using classroom resources.
It was a very successful assignment with students understanding what their needs would be and how to meet them.
Rosellas
The students have been investigating ways Australian farmers produce food and fibres. We have been discussing the different farms and what they produce for us with a specific focus on cotton farms. The class was very impressed with how hard farmers work and the amount of time that is taken to provide us with these products.
Hawkes
In science our paddle pop stick bridges will be completed and ready for testing their load baring capacities. We will also briefly looked at some causes of bridge failures by learning about famous bridge disasters.
