Trina Lee Oliver fronted Tamworth Local Court and is now facing three fraud-related charges following a fraud investigation by Tamworth detectives.
The 44-year-old was originally charged with one count of stealing property as a clerk worth more than $150,000 after she allegedly stole $935,539.70 from Red River Rural in Nemingha.
Oliver was first charged by Tamworth detectives in December, last year, who allege Oliver stole the cash between February 1, 2014, and May 11, 2015, while employed by the company.
Now, detectives have charged her with one count of embezzling as a clerk or servant and another of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception.
According to court documents, Oliver is accused of taking a number of cheques worth a total of $40,660 and fraudulently embezzling them into her account, as well as directing a client to pay $6560 into her personal bank account.
The alleged incidents occurred between February 1, 2014, and May, 2015.
Solicitor John Glynn told the court he needed a lengthy adjournment to examine the facts with his client, who now lives in Queensland.
“If I can indicate for the record, it will be a committal for sentence,” he said, telling the court he received the full facts on March 24.
“I just need to go through them.
“It’s fairly complex.”
The court heard the alleged offending involves a long list of transactions and Magistrate Alexander Mijovich granted the adjournment, but said there was to be no more delays in the case.
“It’s marked it must proceed,” he said.
Oliver remains on conditional bail to live in Queensland.
